Situation 1:
A man or a woman who ran into tax problems as a result of illness, job loss, divorce, or death of a spouse, and who has since remarried and maintained separate finances because of the tax problems of the one spouse. Since remarrying, both spouses have had no further tax problems, but the old taxes remain unpaid. Now, the spouse with the tax problems wants to get them cleaned up at the urging of new spouse and new spouse has separate assets with which to help finance an offer in compromise (OIC).
Situation 2:
A couple with children has run into tax problems because of the self-employment income of one of the spouses. They are trying to pay all liabilities but are not getting anywhere even though they have reasonable living expenses. They have parents that are willing to lend or give them money to get the tax liability paid off with an offer in compromise but not enough to full pay the taxes.

Situation 3:
A business owner had a run of difficult times with the business because it was new or because of a temporary business problem. The business is now doing well, but they have been afraid of trying to solve the old tax problem or they do not know how to solve it, but they have sufficient cash flow to set up a reasonable installment agreement to full pay the taxes within 5 years.
Situation 4:
Same as situation 3, but they have been contacted by a Revenue Officer to conduct an interview for assessing the Trust Fund Recovery Penalty and they don't understand what is at stake or how to best handle the problem.
Situation 5:
A taxpayer that owes less than $20,000.00 has been assigned to a Revenue Officer to catch up missing tax returns and set up an installment agreement to repay the old taxes. They initially agreed to meet with the Revenue Office, but now are afraid to do so without representation.
Situation 6:
A single taxpayer who has run into problems stemming from having too little withheld from wages, but wants to stop having wages levied so they can get on a reasonable budget. They have friends or family that they can borrow a modest amount of money from if it will clear up the tax problems with an offer in compromise.
Situation 7:
A taxpayer or couple who are truly living on the edge and can honestly not currently repay an old tax liability need help immediately. This client has ignored IRS letters because they knew they couldn't afford to pay it, but now their bank account or pay check was just levied, and they can't pay even their modest living expenses. They may be eligible for "currently not collectible" status and release of the levy.
Situation 8:
The taxpayer has been hit with one or more "6721" penalties and they don't have any idea what it is or what to do.
